We are a young, dynamic team working in a growing practice. Our doctors are supported by practice nurses, management and clerical staff all providing high quality care to our patients. In 2005 we moved into our new purpose built medical centre, and with further extensions, now have 12 consulting rooms as well as procedure rooms.

Pioneer Health Albany has a focus on education and teaching, we actively support the registrar training program, rural clinical school, student attachments.

The majority of Pioneer doctors have admitting rights to the local hospital. There are opportunities to practice procedural skills in obstetrics, anaesthetics and minor surgery, emergency medicine, as well as other specialities such as sports medicine, occupational medicine and palliative care.

Gap Year Student

Pioneer Health is seeking a Gap Year Student for 2016. This position is for a student who has just completed their year 12 studies and would like to work for one year before commencing study at university in 2017. Someone who wants to study in the health sciences would be of specific benefit. This is an opportunity for a suitable young adult to work alongside a dedicated team of health professionals and gather valuable exposure to these role models. The position involves: Reception, administration and some IT work so applicants with a broad range of skills are sought. Personal characteristics that are suited to this role include: An outgoing personality but tempered with an appropriately cautious approach to tasks where experience levels are low, good communication skills and confident enough to seek clarification when required, ability to follow instructions, work within systems and a caring nature for others. Applications are open until the end of November 2015. We will then commence interviews of a short list once exams have finished. The position is a fixed term for one year for about 40 hours per week.
