Baby and Mom

Pioneer Health has a dedicated team of doctors, nurses and receptionists who are committed to your care throughout your pregnancy. Our GP Obstetricians have privileges at Albany Health Campus and are available on-call for our maternity patients*. Our current GP obstetricians are Dr David Tadj, Dr Carly Roxburgh, Dr Yen Lo, Dr Sourabh Joshi, Joash Foo and Dr Shani Macaulay. Our team includes clinicians skilled in caesarean section. Should you require an elective, repeat or emergency caesarean section, this service is provided by our Pioneer Health team.

* Our GP Obstetricians attend weekend deliveries on a rotational basis. This means that should you deliver on the weekend, the Pioneer Health GP Obstetrician on roster will attend, i.e. it may not be your GP Obstetrician.

Pre-Pregnancy Clinic

Pioneer Health are committed to providing you and your family with high quality health care. The Pioneer obstetric team’s highest priority is to ensure a healthy baby and mother. In order to give children the very best start in life, it’s important that mothers have a healthy pregnancy. The Pioneer Health Pre-Pregnancy Clinic represents an excellent opportunity to prevent health issues for you in your pregnancy and your baby. Please read our Pre-Pregnancy Clinic Brochure below for more information.

Practice Equipment

Pioneer Health's investment in specialized obstetrics equipment allows us to offer high quality pregnancy care. The practice has an ultrasound machine that is used regularly to ascertain your baby's wellbeing and presentation. We also have two on-site cardiotocograph (CTG) machines. Our CTG allows for foetal heart rate monitoring in the third trimester of pregnancy.

Lactation Consultant/Midwife

To further enhance the care of our obstetric patients, Pioneer Health now has a Lactation Consultant/Midwife, Mel Scott. Mel is a mother of four who has 12+ years experience as a midwife and is a qualified Lactation Consultant.

Mel is at the practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will support our obstetric patients by providing the following services:
