PAYMENT OF
FEES
The doctors at Pioneer Health Albany bulk bill all children under 16
years of age.
For patients 16 and over, we are not a regular bulk billing
practice. Our practice requires payment for consultations after
your appointment. You may pay using cash, cheque, EFTPOS or
credit card. A rebate can be claimed from Medicare, we are
able to submit your account directly to Medicare electronically
on your behalf. Please ask our reception team before paying.
Veteran Affairs gold card holders are directly billed to DVA
for all services.
If you are experiencing financial difficulty please speak to
your doctor during your consult.
If you have a complaint, or any feedback (positive or negative)
regarding our service, please feel free to ask to speak with
the practice manager or your doctor.
GAP FEE
The gap fee remains the same for a standard or long consult.
If your consult is extra long there is a slightly higher gap
to pay. Our reception staff will be happy to give you these
prices.
When you pay a gap fee your account is electronically submitted
to Medicare. You will receive a cheque from Medicare for the
outstanding amount, which is to be forward to your doctor.
Please note: the outstanding balance
remains your responsibility until we receive the Medicare cheque
from you. Please do not deposit this cheque into your own bank
account, it is addressed to your doctor. If you do so, you
will still be responsible for paying the Medicare rebate amount
to your doctor.
ANNUAL GAP FEE
The annual gap fee is an optional, once a year gap payment
that you may choose to make towards your healthcare at Pioneer
Health Albany. In return we will bulk bill all your consults
at Pioneer Health Albany for a 12 months period or if you have
an antenatal gap fee, until the birth of your baby.
The annual gap fee does not apply to;
hospital consults
medical reports and occupational medicals
workers compensation
travel vaccines and non-schedule vaccines
facility fee
Please note: the annual gap fee is not transferable
to another patient.

friendly reception team who will be only to happy to discuss
this with you.
REPEAT PRESCIPTIONS
Please make a short appointment with your doctor for repeat prescriptions.
If this consult is kept to a script only you will be bulk billed
directly to Medicare. However, if other concerns are discussed
during the consult the doctor may charge a fee.
Please note: this is for prescriptions that your doctor
at Pioneer Health Albany has previously prescribed to you.
Not for new prescriptions, a change of medication or new patients
to the practice.
FACILITY FEE
The facility fee is to cover the cost of consumables, instrument
sterilizing and dressings for all lesion removals and minor
procedures. This fee is $33 (including GST) or for more complex
procedures $55 (including GST). This is payable at the time
of the procedure or lesion removal.
